Our History
The Greater Phoenix Urban League was proudly established in 1945. This private nonprofit, nonpartisan, social service and civil rights community based organization serves the greater Phoenix area, providing assistance in the areas of economic empowerment, education, housing, advocacy, health and quality of life, as well as equal opportunity.
For 78 years, the Greater Phoenix Urban League has served as one of the area’s most respected civil rights and social service agencies. The mission of the League is to equip the disadvantaged with tools to achieve economic and social equality. This mission is implemented through relevant programs in education, housing, access to healthcare and job readiness. The result is an organization with strong roots in the community, serving thousands of residences annually.
