The GPUL is a HUD Certified Counseling Agency that has been recognized for excellence in providing quality housing education programs around the Valley. Since the inception of the program, we have effectively assisted over 500 individuals and families in achieving the American Dream of "homeownership".
The Greater Phoenix Urban League has partnered with the City of Phoenix and the State of Arizona to implement the Neighborhood Stabilization Program ("NSP"). Through strategic partnerships and community outreach, the GPUL strives to help local family's secure safe and comfortable housing. NSP classes are provided every Saturday and the first Tuesday and Wednesday of each month. Please check the calendar below for available dates and times that best meet your schedule.. Affordable Low Income Apartments
The GPUL helps low and moderate income individuals, families and seniors locate respectable, safe, and sanitary housing. To qualify, individuals must possess an income that is no greater than 60% of the median income in Maricopa County. For more information, contact the GPUL at 602-254-5611.
First Time Homebuyers Seminar
GPUL First Time Homebuyer Seminars provide information on the steps necessary to obtain homeownership. Specifically, seminar participants will learn how to clear up/dispute credit issues and develop a successful financial plan to begin the process of saving for a down payment and closing costs. In addition, seminar participants will go through an individual and family credit review to provide a foundation to acquire a home loan, as well as gain an understanding of the loan pre-approval and pre-qualification process. GPUL Foreclosure Prevention Counseling provides advice on how families can avoid foreclosure.
