Many of the Valley of the Sun's philanthropic, corporate, social and political leaders come together to support the vision of the Greater Phoenix Urban League at the Annual Whitney M. Young, Jr. Awards Dinner. The awards dinner is one of Phoenix's most prominent events. Each year, the dinner honors an individual and a corporation who has best exemplified the principles and philosophies of the late Whitney M. Young Jr., former Executive Director of the National Urban League.

"Fun in the Sun" Annual Golf Tournament
Started in 1993, teams of golfers from around the Valley have come together in a special spirit of fun and philanthropy to support the annual GPUL "Fun in the Sun" Golf Tournament. All proceeds from the "Fun in the Sun" Golf Tournament go to supporting the Greater Phoenix Urban League's continued efforts to build stronger communities around the Valley.
